How to Sell Thai Products on TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada
This article is general information for reference only and does not constitute legal, tax or platform-policy advice.
Why Thai products work well on online marketplaces
Thai consumer goods have a strong reputation across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and beyond. Skincare, herbal balms, snacks and household brands are recognisable, visual and easy to explain in a short video, which is exactly what social commerce rewards. For an online seller, that means lower effort to educate buyers and a better chance that a product page earns trust quickly.
The platforms also behave differently. TikTok Shop favours short videos and live selling, Shopee and Lazada favour search and price comparison, and Instagram works best for brand-led storytelling and direct messages. Choosing products with your main channel in mind saves a lot of wasted stock.
Step 1: Choose products that suit the platform
Start with items that are easy to demonstrate and photograph. A lip tint, a sunscreen stick, a herbal balm or a pack of instant noodles shows clearly on camera. Bulky or fragile goods increase shipping cost and breakage risk, so they usually suit experienced sellers better.
A balanced starter range often mixes three kinds of product:
- Hero products that bring traffic, such as well-known beauty brands like Mistine, Cathy Doll, Srichand or Sivanna Colors.
- Repeat-purchase items such as body care from Vaseline or Babi Mild, or everyday snacks like MAMA noodles and Chupa Chups.
- Add-on items like small balms and inhalers from Tiger Balm, Poy-Sian or Siang Pure that make a basket larger.

Step 2: Check rules before you list
Every platform and every country has its own restrictions on categories such as cosmetics, supplements, traditional remedies and food. Some products need local registration, specific labelling or a licensed importer. These rules change, so treat anything you read online, including this article, as a starting point and confirm with the platform's seller policy, your local authority or a customs broker.
Never copy claims from packaging into your listing unless you are sure they are permitted in your market. Describe what a product is, how it is used and what it feels like, and avoid medical or cure-style language.
Step 3: Build your pricing logic
Work backwards from the price shoppers see on the platform. Add up the product cost, international freight, import duties and taxes, local delivery, packaging, platform commission, payment fees, advertising and an allowance for returns or damage. What remains is your real margin. Many new sellers forget advertising and returns and are surprised when the numbers do not work.
Compare similar items already listed in your market. If you cannot sit comfortably below or near the going price with a healthy margin, consider a bundle, a gift set or a different product instead of racing to the lowest price.
Step 4: Order samples and test small
Before committing to a larger purchase, ask your supplier about sample orders. Test how the product arrives, how it looks on camera and how customers react. Our team can advise what is suitable for a trial and how products can be consolidated into one shipment; availability and terms are confirmed in the quotation.
Test two or three products first, watch which ones get saves, comments and repeat orders, then deepen those lines.
Step 5: Build listings that convert
A strong listing is clear and honest. Use these basics:
- Clean photos on a plain background plus one lifestyle image.
- A title that includes brand, product type and size, written the way shoppers search.
- A short bullet list covering what it is, how to use it, and what is in the pack.
- A short video showing texture, size and unboxing.
- Accurate shelf-life and storage information where relevant.
On TikTok Shop, add a 15 to 30 second demonstration clip and respond to comments with further videos. On Shopee and Lazada, invest in titles and keywords. On Instagram, use Stories and direct messages to answer questions personally.
Step 6: Plan logistics and stock
Decide early how you will receive goods. Most online sellers consolidate several products into one shipment to share freight costs. ThaiNex supports and coordinates shipping and export documents from Bangkok through trusted international logistics partners; timing and cost depend on the product and destination and are confirmed in the quotation. Import permits, customs clearance, duties and local compliance remain the importer's responsibility, so speak to a broker in your country early.
Keep a simple stock sheet, rotate older stock first and watch expiry dates on food and cosmetics.
Step 7: Grow with a reliable sourcing partner
Once a product proves itself, consistency matters more than novelty. A supplier who can restock the same brands and advise on alternatives keeps your listings alive. If you want to sell Thai products in your own country with sourcing support from Bangkok, you can also look at the ThaiNex Seller Partner programme.
